funding
SAORT will assist clubs in liaising with possible sponsors for financial support of an event.
The South African Ocean Racing Trust does not offer direct funding – except in extreme cases where an event cannot happen. Even then, this is only offered on a limited scale, preferably as a grant/seed money.
Support
SAORT can assist clubs in the establishment of offshore races, the administration and safety aspects as well as providing consultative assistance with regard to SAMSA and SAS regulations in order to look after the requirements of the Ocean/Offshore sailor and boat owners
Development
SAORT is also looking at adding value to development, assisting the right individuals to gain vocational employment within the industry.
